In Kampala, in the district of Muyenga-Namuwongo, between the well-to-do residences and the informal housing, propinquity is only geographical. The project skillfully identifies a series of micro- interventions that make public space attractive and welcoming: colourful bridges, jogging paths, markets, train stops, gardens, and cultural and recreational facilities. Located in a network of enhanced mobility, these multiple points of interaction punctuate daily commutes. The idea takes on an informal and spontaneous dimension, with a lively and colourful architecture. From this perspective of transformation, a collaborative platform gives autonomy to the inhabitants. The objective is to initiate a shared sense of belonging and identity. The street becomes the setting for social encounters thanks to a strategy that can be transposed to the metropolitan area. Implantés dans un maillage de mobilités renforcées, ces multiples points d’interaction rythment les trajets quotidiens. L’idée assume une dimension informelle et spontanée, avec une architecture gaie et animée. Dans cette perspective de transformation, une plateforme collaborative donne de l’autonomie aux habitants. L’objectif est d’initier un sentiment d’appartenance et d’identité partagé. La rue devient le théâtre de la rencontre sociale grâce à une stratégie transposable à l’aire métropolitaine.
