60-61 — Annabelle Iszatt Re-adaptation of Vernacular Toilet Réadapter l’hygiène vernaculaire Quand la pensée d’un assainissement individuel sert un mode de vie en symbiose avec l’eau. Dans le secteur de Jakarta en Indonésie, une partie de la population vit au bord de la rivière. Espace de vie à part entière (pêche, baignade, toilette), les conditions d’hygiène n’y sont pas satisfaisantes. Le projet restructure les usages traditionnels au sein de modules flottants inspirés des constructions vernaculaires. La conception donne un rôle dominant à la toiture, abri de bois et bambou. Dans sa partie immergée, l’intervention est simple, mais efficace, marquant la succession bien maîtrisée d’interactions écologiques : filtration des déchets, nettoyage, récupération d’eau de pluie, bassin d’élevage des poissons-chats, bassin de jacinthes d’eau filtrant. Cette architecture modeste ordonne pour apporter plus de qualité. In the Jakarta area of Indonesia, part of the population lives by the river. A living space in its own right (fishing, swimming, washing), the hygiene conditions are not satisfactory. The project restructures traditional uses within floating modules inspired by vernacular installations. The design gives a dominant role to the roof, a shelter of wood and bamboo. In its submerged part, the intervention is simple but effective, marking the well-controlled succession of ecological interactions: waste filtration, cleaning, rainwater recovery, catfish breeding pond, hyacinth filtration pond.
